Dermoscopy Certification Course Accreditation
Activity Overview
Participants will learn to differentiate benign nevi from early acral melanoma, identify high-risk features requiring
biopsy or referral, and recognize mimickers such as hemorrhage or traumatic pigmentation. Case-based questions
and evidence-based insights will guide learners toward improved diagnostic confidence and patient outcomes in both
primary and specialty care settings.
Target Audience
This activity is designed for an audience of Physicians, Nurses, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistants.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of the educational activity, participants should be able to:
- Differentiate the dermoscopic patterns characteristic of benign versus malignant lesions on volar and acral skin.
- Recognize the significance of the parallel ridge pattern as a hallmark feature of acral melanoma.
- Identify the typical presentations of benign acral nevi, including the parallel furrow and fibrillar patterns.
- Distinguish acral hemorrhage from melanocytic lesions using dermoscopic clues such as color, border, and pattern.
- Describe the dermoscopic features associated with congenital volar nevi and the “peas in a pod” pattern.
Criteria for Success
To obtain a certificate of completion, a score of 80% or better on the post-test is required. Please proceed with the activity until
you have successfully completed this program, answered all test questions, completed the post-test and evaluation, and have
received a digital copy of your certificate. You must participate in the entire activity to receive credit. There is no fee to
